VIDEO: Virat Kohli took a jibe at Dean Elgar, said – do you think you will silence me?

New Delhi. The final and deciding match of the three-match Test series (India vs South Africa) between India and South Africa is being played in Cape Town. On the third day of the match, there was a lot of uproar over the controversial DRS decision of South Africa captain Dean Elgar. Captain Virat Kohli and the players of Team India commented fiercely on the stump mic. In the 21st over of the South African innings, Elgar was out clearly lbw off Ravichandran Ashwin, but replays showed the ball was passing over the stumps. Kohli, however, was not happy with the DRS’s decision and other Indian players also expressed their displeasure over it.

Before Dean Elgar was brought to life after a successful DRS, Virat Kohli had a heated argument with the South African captain, who was caught in the stump mic. India captain Kohli was seen taking a dig at the South African opener after the end of the 12th over during South Africa’s chase for the third day’s total.

Indian Test captain Virat Kohli sledged Elgar and claimed that the South African opener is scared of Bumrah. Kohli also claimed that Elgar was trying to cancel the third Test match of India’s previous tour of South Africa in 2018. He said, “Unbelievable. Running away from Jasprit after ‘Man of the Match’ performance in the last game….. I’ve been speaking for 13 years, you think you’ll shut me up? We all know who wanted to cancel the match in Johannesburg 2018. We all know this.”

This comment by the Indian captain about Dean Elgar caught the attention of netizens on social media. Elgar was then given out lbw in the 21st over of South Africa’s innings, but the TV umpire urged on-field official Marais Erasmus to reverse his decision following the controversial DRS call. After this, angry with the decision of DRS, Kohli was seen kicking on the field. Indian team players also expressed their dismay at the stump mic before the end of the day’s play in Cape Town.
