Twitter is bringing Live Shopping feature in collaboration with Walmart, know how to use it

Twitter Inc. is set to team up with Walmart to test the live shopping feature this week. This will give the user an opportunity to buy the products being promoted in the real time video broadcast. Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, will be the first to sell through the new tool during a live event on November 28. Twitter said in a blog post that the retailer will be airing on the Twitter app with legendary musician Jason Derulo, and users will be able to browse the product catalog while watching the live video.

Viewers will be redirected to Walmart’s website to complete the transaction when they click to make a purchase. San Francisco-based Twitter executives said earlier this year that they see the purchase as a business opportunity, though that effort has yet to be further fueled by some experimentation.

Shop Module was announced
Twitter in July announced a ‘Shop Module’ that lets some retailers add products to their Twitter profiles, a program that went offline after a test period and will be reintroduced next month. It has been told that the company is not processing the payment nor deducting any transaction.

Twitter is looking for ways to expand its business to reduce its reliance on digital advertising, which accounts for 89% of sales. The company has also recently launched a monthly subscription product.

Live shopping has become a popular testing ground for social networks looking to capture some online retail business. Meta Platforms Inc. (which owns Facebook) is also offering Live Shopping, and Pinterest Inc. launched a similar service earlier this month.

Google’s YouTube is also pushing live shopping this holiday season in hopes of stealing some online sales from Inc.
