Prayagraj Magh Mela: Guidelines issued for Sangam Snan on Makar Sankranti, know who will get permission

Lucknow. In the midst of the rising speed of Corona (Corona Third Wave), the state government has issued new guidelines for bathing in the confluence of Prayagraj for the first bath on January 14 i.e. Makar Sankranti. Guidelines were issued on Thursday by Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra regarding Makar Sankranti and Magh Mela bath. According to the new rule, entry will be given to only those people who have taken both the doses of Kovid vaccine in Makar Sankranti and Magh Mela. Along with this, people with symptoms of corona have been appealed not to go to Sangam for bath.

According to the guidelines issued by the Chief Secretary today, in view of the increasing infection of Kovid, the Kovid protocol should be followed to prevent it from increasing. The mandatory requirement of social distancing and use of masks and use of sanitizers should be strictly followed. In view of the increasing nature of infection, an appeal should be made by the district administration to the general public that only those persons who have taken both the doses of Kovid vaccine will be allowed in Makar Sankranti bath and Magh Mela.

These will be the rules for bathing in the Sangam

  • Persons suffering from various diseases (comorbid), senior citizens, pregnant women, children and such persons who have symptoms of covid like – cough, cold, fever etc., should be requested not to go to the fair / bathing place.
  • People should be made aware about Kovid through adequate public address system at the place of bath/fair. The general public should be motivated to wear masks, not to gather crowds and to follow the COVID guidelines.
  • In all the districts where Makar Sankranti is to be bathed and a fair is to be held, arrangements for thermal screening should be ensured. If a person is suffering from symptoms of cold, cough, cold and fever etc., then they should be requested not to participate in the fair / bath and immediately arrange for their RTPCR / Trunet / Antigen test should be ensured.
