Dhanbad. 15 days after the Anjum Ara murder case, all the accused in this case were caught. All the arrested accused got corona test done at Sadar Hospital and after their report came negative, they were sent to jail. Let us inform that Anjum Ara, a resident of Govindpur police station area, was married in 2020 in Munidih police station area. Anjum was killed in her in-laws’ house on 29 December.
In the report lodged with the police, allegations of torture and murder were made against the husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law for dowry. In the recorded report, Anjum’s family members have also told that Anjum was forcibly fed drugs to have physical relations with others. She was beaten so much that she fainted.
After Anjum’s death on December 29, the relatives staged a demonstration by placing the dead body in front of the rural SP office of the district, accusing the in-laws of murder. On the orders of the senior police officers of the district, the SIT was formed and raids were being conducted to nab the accused. Troubled by the police raid, all the accused had fled to Bengal. But Jharkhand and Bengal police caught all the accused by running a joint campaign.
According to the police, the rest of the accused, including Anjum Ara’s husband Riyazuddin Ansari, have confessed to their crime. Anjum’s mother said that she has full faith in the law, but until all the accused are sentenced to death, her daughter’s soul will not rest in peace. At the same time, Fatima Zeenat, who stood step-by-step with the victim’s family in this case, said that while Anjum Ara was alive, her complaint was sent to the local police several months ago, but the police did not pay heed. Soon all the accused have been caught. I demand from the administration that death penalty should be given to all the culprits, so that no one dares to torture and kill the daughter of a poor in this way.
