Sports Desk: In the 53 kg category of women’s freestyle wrestling at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, world number 1 wrestler Vinesh Phogat lost to Vanessa Kaladzinskaya of Belarus in the quarter-final match. Now Vinesh will have to wait till Vanessa reaches the finals so that she can enter the repechage round for the bronze medal.

In this match, Indian wrestler Vinesh went down 2-5 to Vanessa of Belarus in the first period. After this, Vanessa maintained a 7-3 lead in the second period. This pressure made Vinesh play aggressive. But the bet backfired and the Belarusian wrestler put him on the ground. After the beating, the Belarus wrestler won the match 9–3 under “winner by fall”.

Earlier Vinesh Phogat started her campaign by defeating Sofia Magdalena MATTSSON of Sweden. Vinesh had made it to the quarter-finals with a 7-1 win in the 1/8 final.
