In the year 2020, 1995 kg of Khichdi was cooked on Sankranti in Tattapani, a famous tourist spot on the border of Shimla and Mandi and made Guinness Book of Records.
Khichdi was made on such a large scale to make Guinness Book of Records and CM Jai Ram Thakur also participated in the program.
Earlier, Famous Chef Sanjeev Kapoor had made a record of making 918 kg Khichdi, which was now broken in Tattapani. He made khichdi at India Gate in New Delhi.
Khichdi was prepared by a team of 25 people in Tattapani. 5 hours and 1100 liters of water were used to make it.
65 kg of peas, 199 kg of mash, 90 kg of country ghee and 30 to 40 kg of masala were used to make khichdi.
A big pot (pot) for making khichdi was ordered from Jagadhri, the famous utensil market of Haryana.
The pot had been the center of attraction of the people. A special stove was also prepared for utensils.
