Major accident averted at Dubai Airport! Two Indian-bound planes narrowly escaped collision, orders for investigation

New Delhi. The Air Accident Investigation Sector, the aviation investigation body of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has launched an investigation into the incident of a near-collision at the Dubai airport on January 9. This happened because two flights to India were scheduled for take-off on a runway in a span of five minutes. However, the take-off was immediately aborted in time, saving hundreds of lives. News agency ANI gave this information on Friday.

A person aware of the incident told ANI, “Dubai to Hyderabad flight number EK-524 was accelerating for take-off from runway 30R, when the crew fired an aircraft at high speed in the same direction. Saw it coming The take-off was immediately instructed to be rejected by ATC, after which the aircraft slowed down safely and cleared the runway via taxiway N4, which had crossed the runway. Another Emirates flight from Dubai to Bangalore, EK-568, which was preparing for departure, was to take-off from the same runway 30R.
