In Jharkhand, 97% of MNREGA workers do not get 100 days’ work, Rural Development Department warned

Ranchi. MGNREGA Scheme has not been completely successful in Jharkhand. Recently released figures show that MGNREGA is failing in the state. According to these figures, the number of laborers working for 100 days under MNREGA in the current financial year is only 2.4 percent. If you look at the figures of total job card holders in Jharkhand, then it is of 45 lakh 80 thousand 239. Under MNREGA, the government has set a target to provide 100 days of work to all job card holders. Now in such a situation, if we talk about from April 1, 2021 to January 14, 2022, then the number of people getting work under MNREGA is 54 thousand 41.

In the year 2021, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, Jal Samridhi Yojana and Poto Ho Yojana were started by the Rural Development Department. This scheme was to be operated under MNREGA only. Despite this, this figure is shocking. The Rural Development Department has expressed concern over this figure of wages under MNREGA in Jharkhand.

The department has warned the job card holders to stop the amount if work is not allotted up to the target of 80 percent. The surprising thing is that out of 24 districts of the state, Giridih district is at the lowest rank. In Giridih district, the percentage of job card holders who get 100 days of work is just 0.9. Whereas Ramgarh ranks first in allotting the maximum work of 100 days. But the surprising thing is that its percentage is also only 7.1.
