Food Desk : In today’s time, apart from South Indian people, most people like to eat idli. Be it breakfast or dinner, Idli has become the choice of people. But rice and lentils have to be soaked for hours to make idli. Along with this, there is also the hassle of grinding it and then the process of fermenting it, due to which people shy away from making it. But today we are going to tell you how to make fluffy soft and soft bread idli in just 15 minutes. This idli is as easy to make as it is tasty to eat and to make it, you have to use left over bread at home, not lentils and rice. To make bread idli you need-
4 bread slices (white/brown bread)
1 cup rava
salt to taste
1 cup curd
1½ cups water
a pinch of baking soda
Oil to grease the idli plate
First, take slices of bread and cut off the edges. This helps in making white idlis.
Now put the bread pieces in a mixer and make a powder. Then take out this bread crumbs in a large mixing bowl.
Add one cup of rava to the bread crumbs. After this add salt and a cup of thick curd and mix it well.
Add water as required to prepare it like idli batter. Remember to add water little by little to the batter so that it doesn’t get too wet.
Before steaming the idli, just add a pinch of baking soda to it and mix well until it becomes frothy.
Brush the idli plates with oil and immediately pour the batter into the idli plate and steam it on medium flame for 8-10 minutes.
Let it rest for 5 minutes and then unmold and serve hot with coconut chutney and sambhar.
